The Lilith Wrist Cuff

Unit price  per

Handmade sterling silver wrist cuff. A stunning, marquise-shaped Idaho Black Moss Agate stone is set in a scalloped bezel setting. A simple split band completes this cuff. This is an open wrist cuff that is slightly adjustable and fits most wrists. The stone measures approximately 0.75 x 2.25 inches.

Place the cuff on your wrist and squeeze or stretch the cuff to your wrist size, so that you can still slide it on and off the thin part of your wrist. It is recommended that wrist cuffs be sized ONCE, as constant bending of the cuff will result in weak metal that will break over time.

This cuff is inspired by the Mesopotamian/Judaic character Lilith. Lilith is an extremely controversial character in Jewish folklore. Some believe Lilith to be Adam's first wife, while some believe Lilith was created at the same time as Adam and was meant to exist in the garden alongside him. Problems arose, however, when Adam tried to exert dominance over Lilith, and when Lilith refused (she believed herself to be equal to Adam), she fled the garden of Eden. When God sent three angels to retrieve her, she refused, thus establishing her role as the primordial she-demon. Some believe her to be a mother of demons, while some have reclaimed her as a symbol of autonomy, liberation, and independence for women.
