This necklace is inspired by Sirens, the mythological creatures from ancient Greek mythology, gaining most of their notoriety from the story of Odysseus. Sirens are half woman, half bird-like creatures that use their enchanting voices to lure sailors off their course and to their death. These creatures are often associated with the ocean, and while early depictions portrayed them as half bird/half woman creatures, later adaptations portrayed them to be beautiful women or even mermaid-like creatures, emphasizing their seductive nature.
